Seraikela: Assault victim succumbs to injuries, kin to get compensation

Seraikela, Oct 29: Kuna Rana, 35, resident of Nimdih and a pick-up van driver, who was assaulted by unidentified goons near Kapali, succumbed to injuries at his house late Friday night.

Irked over the death, the relatives and well-wishers of the deceased demanded compensation from the owner of the pick-up van. After negotiations, it was agreed by the vehicle owner to pay Rs four lakh to the family of the deceased as compensation. Local Nagar Panchayat vice president Manoj Kumar Choudhary and others reached the house of the deceased and condoled Kuna’s death. Police said the culprits would soon be arrested.
