Senior journalist Shamim Jamshedpuri passes away leaving a void in the media fraternity

Jamshedpur, March 2: Senior journalist Mohammad Shamim Jamshedpuri passed away on early Wednesday morning. He will be remembered as a mild mannered and calm colleague with an amiable disposition. A senior journalist, Md Shamim Jamshedpuri was an indispensible link for news and views in Dainik Hindustan. He suffered a coronary attack on Tuesday and rushed to Brahmanand Hrudalay where he underwent surgery but breathed his last early morning on Wednesday.

The news of his death spread like wildfire casting a veil of sorrow in the journalists’ fraternity. Journalists’ associations, political and social organizations and individuals expressed their condolences.

Shamim Jamshedpuri’s fortes were his news reports and reviews on religious events, cultural programmes in the realms of music, theatre, dance and cinema, social issues and sports. He was well informed on religions and their practices.

Md Shamim Jamshedpuri was 53 years old. The journalists were dazed on receiving the news of the senior journalist’s death. His funeral prayers were performed at the Dhatkidih Mosque and his body taken to the Dhatkidih cemetery at 4 pm. A large number of journalists, members of the performing media, political parties and social organizations were present during the senior journalist’s funeral.

Banna expresses grief

Health Minister Banna Gupta expressed grief over the sudden and untimely death of senior journalist Md Shamim Jamshedpuri. He said, “Shamim Ji was soft spoken and a friend of all. He was with me during my periods of struggle. May the departed soul find peace in the world beyond. My condolence goes out to the bereaved family members. May God give them strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

Saraikela journalists express grief on Md Shamim’s death

The journalists’ fraternity of Saraikela-Kharsawan district expressed grief over the sudden passing away of senior colleague, Md Shamim Ansari Jamshedpuri on Wednesday, March 2 after suffering a massive heart attack. A condolence meeting chaired by senior journalist, Bhagyasagar Singh was organized where members paid their tribute to the departed soul. The journalists observed a two-minute silence and prayed for the peace of Md Shamim’s soul. Describing Md Shamim Jamshedpuri’s death as an irreparable loss to the world of journalism, the district journalists prayed to God to bless the departed senior colleague’s family to bear the loss with courage and fortitude. Journalists who were present in the condolence meeting included Pramod Singh, Umakant Pradhan, Golak Bihari Jyotish, Pratap Mishra, Dhiraj Singh, Mohammad Ramzan, Sanjay Mishra and Suman Modak.
