Jamshedpur, August 9: A sedition case has been registered against senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid at the Sakchi police station in Jamshedpur, following a complaint by local BJP leader Abhay Singh. The case stems from Khurshid’s recent controversial statement suggesting that conditions similar to the recent coup in Bangladesh could potentially occur in India.
Singh, in his complaint, expressed concern that such statements by Congress leaders could potentially disrupt communal harmony in the country. He emphasized the need for immediate action against leaders making such remarks, arguing that they pose a threat to national unity and social cohesion.
The BJP leader criticized the Congress party’s stance on the recent events in Bangladesh, where minority Hindus have reportedly faced persecution. Singh pointed out that while Congress leaders remain silent on the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, they are quick to draw parallels that could potentially incite unrest within India.
“Congress leaders are not speaking about the torture of minority Hindus in Bangladesh, but they are working to spoil communal harmony by raising the possibility of a coup in our country. This should be stopped immediately,” Singh stated in his complaint
