Jamshedpur, August 9: A controversy unfolded in Mango, Jamshedpur, when representatives from AS Car Lease Service Private Limited, a Kolkata-based car rental company, arrived to reclaim a vehicle that had not been returned on time. The incident, which occurred on Friday, highlighted the risks associated with self-drive car rentals and the use of technology in vehicle tracking.

According to reports, Imran Sheikh and two friends from Mango Baganshahi had rented a car from the company a month ago, claiming it was needed for a family wedding. The vehicle was supposed to be returned after 10 days, but the renters failed to do so.

Utilizing artificial intelligence technology installed in the car, the company was able to track its location to Kuli Road in Mango. Upon arriving, company representatives found the vehicle severely damaged, raising suspicions of an accident or vandalism.

Attempts to contact Imran Sheikh proved futile, as he did not appear in person. Instead, he attempted to return the keys through a friend, an offer the company refused. After waiting for an extended period without Sheikh’s appearance, the company representatives announced their intention to seek legal recourse and file a police complaint.
