Jamshedpur, June 26: Thieves targeted the government liquor shop situated in Kagalnagar under the Sonari police station, last night. The perpetrators gained entry by cutting through the tin roof and made away with loose change and several bottles of liquor. The exact value of the stolen items was still being assessed.
Upon receiving the report, police, including the Sonari police station in-charge, reached the scene and initiated investigations. This incident marked the second theft at this particular shop, raising questions about security measures.
Instances of theft have been reported frequently at various liquor shops across Jamshedpur and its vicinity, prompting suspicions of organized activities. The police are currently scrutinizing nearby CCTV footage as part of their ongoing investigation.
Located on the main road in Kagalnagar market, the shop is regularly patrolled by police teams stationed nearby. Despite these measures, the thieves managed to burgle the liquor shop. This marks the second consecutive theft at the same shop, highlighting vulnerabilities in its security arrangements.
