Jamshedpur, April 14: The 126th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and Dalit rights activist, was observed in Jadugora on Friday, April 14.
The main event was organised by Mukhi Samaj Vikas Samiti at UCIL colony in Jadugora. The celebration started with paying floral tributes to the portrait of Babasaheb where Tikki Mukhi, vice president of the samiti distributed school bags and water bottles among the 70 students.
On the occasion a carrom contest was also organised among the students. The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs 2000, runner-up received Rs 1000 while the third awardee got Rs 500.
Addressing the programme, Tikki Mukhi said, we should walk on the path laid down by Dr Ambedkar and help make a educated a develop society. We should fulfill the dreams of Babasaheb and make India a classless and casteless society where talent should be given top priority.
Present on the occasion were BJP leaders Vittu Agarwal, Mukhi Samaj’s Munna Singh, Prakash Bhagat, Goutam Bhagat, Dara Dey, Umesh Mukhi, Baishkhu Mukhi, Bablu Mukhi and others.
