Scenic Paharbhanga attracts new year tourists

Jadugoda, Jan 2: The natural beauty of Paharbhanga in Lowadih village near Narwa Pahar drew large crowds of tourists on New Year’s Day. This popular spot, located 25 km from Jamshedpur in the Potka block, saw a massive influx of visitors enjoying the serene rivers, picturesque hills, and lush surroundings. Youth groups danced to festive tunes, and families relished picnics to mark the celebration.

While the scenic spot brought joy to many, tourists expressed dissatisfaction over a Rs. 100 fee collected from four-wheelers by locals, allegedly under the pretext of maintaining cleanliness. “We came here to enjoy the day, but such illegal fees are unfair,” said a tourist from Jamshedpur. Potka police appeared unaware of the situation, leaving tourists demanding action. Visitors urged the district administration to ensure free access to the picnic spot for everyone.
