Jamshedpur, Aug 6: Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy held a telephonic conversation with the East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner on Wednesday regarding the indefinite strike by small vehicle owners, emphasizing the need for a practical and timely resolution to the issue.
The Deputy Commissioner, currently out of town, assured Roy that the problem would be resolved within three days. He added that upon returning, he would hold discussions with administrative and mining officials, as well as the aggrieved parties, to chalk out a way forward.
The DC further mentioned that he would clearly communicate the process for obtaining sand for construction purposes, and issue a notification if necessary to eliminate confusion. Roy noted that he had raised the matter with the DC four days ago and reiterated it during their latest conversation. The DC assured that a meeting with the concerned parties would likely take place on Friday or Saturday to explain the procedures in detail and avoid public inconvenience.
