Saryu Roy inspects Chhath preparations at Kadma and Sonari Ghats

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy inspected several Chhath Ghats across Kadma and Sonari on Saturday to review festival preparations. His visit began at Shastri Nagar Block No. 3 and continued through Ramjanam Nagar, Sati Ghat, Domuhani Murti Visarjan Ghat and L&T Ghat.

Roy directed the Deputy Municipal Commissioner to address any issues immediately and ensure that devotees faced no inconvenience during the grand Chhath festival. Among those accompanying him were Mukul Mishra, Munna Singh, Tarak Mukherjee, Ravi Thakur, Rakesh Singh, Manoj Singh, Suranjan Rai and Sheshnath Pathak.

Intensive fogging drive around Chhath Ghats

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Under the direction of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, extensive fogging operations were conducted around all Chhath Ghats within the Municipal Corporation limits to ensure a mosquito-free environment during the festival. The drive, carried out on a war footing, covered localities such as Chanakyapuri, Shyam Nagar, Ram Nagar, Vastu Vihar, Shanti Nagar and Intake Well.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner Chandan Kumar inspected the Ghats and directed that cleanliness and sanitation be given top priority. City Manager, City Mission Manager and Sanitation Supervisors continued inspections until late evening to ensure devotees faced no inconvenience during the Chhath rituals.

CDPC applauds arrangements at Chhath Ghats

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Ahead of the sacred Chhath Puja, a delegation of the East Singhbhum Central Durga Puja Committee (ESCDPC), led by General Secretary Lalan Yadav, inspected several Chhath Ghats across Jamshedpur. The team found excellent arrangements, including improved sanitation, proper lighting, surveillance towers and divers for safety.

The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee and Deputy Municipal Commissioner have developed model ghats along riverbanks for devotees. In rural areas, Block Development Officers supervised cleaning operations. The work is being jointly supported by the District Administration, Municipal Corporation and corporate houses.

The committee expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for the excellent preparations. The inspection team included Senior Vice President Baldev Singh Mehra, Vice President Pawan Upadhyay, Joint Secretary Shyam Sharma, Secretary Rambabu Yadav, Abhishek Kumar and social worker W. Rahman.

Sanjib Sardar facilitates new Chhath ghat constructions

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: In preparation for Chhath Puja, two temporary artificial Ghats were constructed at Veer Kunwar Singh Ground in Bagbera Colony through the efforts of Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar and Panchayat Samiti member Sunil Gupta.

Additionally, five more temporary ghats were built for devotees—two at Veer Kunwar Singh Ground, one each at Shahid Ground, Chitragupta Puja Ground and Rajendra Middle School campus. The construction was inaugurated by Mukhiya Mayawati Tudu, who performed traditional rituals. Sunil Gupta said that the ghats would soon be filled with water to ensure smooth worship. He emphasized that Chhath Puja was a festival of devotion and public sentiment, and all efforts were being made to provide convenience to devotees. Present at the site were Santosh Thakur, KD Munda, Seema Pandey, Abhishek Upadhyay, Rajkumar Singh and many local residents who helped in the ghat construction work.

Haludbani’s Namo Tola pond cleaned for Chhath Puja

Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Continuing his dedicated efforts for the third consecutive day, former Zila Parishad Vice President Rajkumar Singh personally funded and supervised the cleaning of Haludbani’s Namo Tola pond ahead of Chhath Puja.

About 20 laborers were engaged to remove silt and weeds from the pond. Singh confirmed that three major ponds including Dhapu pond in Gadra, Kargil pond and Namo Tola pond had been cleaned and were ready for devotees. Final touches, including electrical decorations and changing rooms, were underway to ensure a comfortable worship experience.

Rajkumar Singh urged devotees to perform Chhath Puja at these clean and prepared locations, assuring that all necessary facilities had been arranged. He expressed gratitude to those assisting in the work, including Raju Besra, Pintu, R.K. Gupta and Golu.
