Saryu Roy denounces Aahar Patrika scam allegations as political vendetta

Jamshedpur, Sep 8: Saryu Roy, addressing the media at a press conference held at his office in Bistupur, Jamshedpur, responded to the recent case filed against him in the Aahar Patrika scam. The case was registered at Argora police station, Ranchi and Roy expressed his frustration with the accusations, stating that multiple cases have been filed against him, all of which he considers baseless.

The case was filed by Manoj Singh, whom Roy described as having a criminal background. Roy further alleged that Singh was acting on behalf of Jharkhand minister Banna Gupta. Unfazed by the legal actions, Roy emphasized that he would not be intimidated and reiterated that the funds spent on the Aahar Patrika were strictly within the limits of the tender, leaving no room for any scam.

Taking a sharp jab at Banna Gupta, Roy criticized Gupta’s derogatory comments and accused him of taking advantage of his position, stating, “Banna is an expert in milking the government.” He also pointed out that rather than filing multiple accusations on the same issue, an FIR should have been filed if there was any evidence of wrongdoing. According to Roy, when the department failed to lodge an FIR in Ranchi, it was filed through Singh, whom he described as a close associate of the Congress party.

Roy called for a thorough investigation into the matter, expressing confidence in his innocence. He also questioned why the defamation case against him has not moved forward and recounted his past experiences with legal battles, particularly when allegations were raised against Lalu Yadav. Roy concluded that these repeated cases are an attempt to cover up the failings of others.
