Gua, Sep 8: Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Champai Soren, alongside former CM Madhu Koda, former MP Geeta Koda, former minister Badkuvar Gagarai, Saraikela Kharsawan Zila Parishad President Sonaram Bodra, and other prominent BJP figures, recently paid tribute to the martyrs of the Gua firing incident. Addressing the media after the tribute, Champai Soren made significant accusations against the Congress party, alleging that all recent firing incidents in the Kolhan region are a result of Congress’s policies.
Champai Soren asserted that the Congress party has historically been antagonistic towards tribals, accusing them of instigating violence against them. He claimed that the Gua firing, where tribals protesting for their rights over water, forest, and land were targeted, was a direct consequence of Congress’s cruelty. Soren criticized the Congress government for not only authorizing the firing but also for the brutal treatment of the injured tribals in hospitals, which led to further casualties.
The former CM elaborated on his view that the Congress government, both at the state and central levels, had consistently worked to suppress the demand for a separate Jharkhand state rather than supporting it. In contrast, Soren praised the BJP for understanding the tribals’ plight and securing Jharkhand’s statehood in 2000. He emphasized that only the BJP could ensure comprehensive development for Jharkhand and safeguard the tribal community from external threats.
Soren expressed concern over what he described as a significant conspiracy to undermine the tribal population’s existence. He alleged that Bangladeshi infiltrators are encroaching upon tribal lands in the Santhal Pargana region, jeopardizing their traditional territories. According to Soren, the BJP is committed to countering this threat and preserving the tribals’ land and identity through ongoing efforts and mobilization.
