Jamshedpur, July 20: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has launched a scathing attack on the current Food Supply Minister of Jharkhand, accusing him of potential misconduct and issuing a bold challenge. In a press release, Roy alleged that the minister is unnecessarily searching through files from his tenure and inspecting godowns, potentially with the intent to divert grains to the black market. The former minister confidently stated that while the current minister might find good things, he won’t be able to digest or accept them.

Roy threw down the gauntlet, challenging the Food Supply Minister to find any evidence of loss to the state or beneficiaries during his tenure as minister. He asserted that all accounts and actions from his time in office are properly documented in departmental files. Roy also suggested that the minister’s true motive might be to uncover mistakes from Dr. Rameshwar Oraon’s tenure, possibly to appease the Congress high command.

The MLA claimed to have reliable information about the minister’s intentions to misappropriate food grains from government godowns. However, he expressed confidence that such attempts would be futile, as both his and Dr. Oraon’s tenures maintained proper order. Roy vowed to prevent any diversion of food grains to black marketers, stating, “We will not let the conspiracy of handing over the food grains allotted for the needy to black marketers succeed.”

In his statement, Roy also called for increased vigilance to avoid repeating alleged issues from the health department, where medicines were reportedly bought at inflated prices and wasted. He urged the Chief Minister to be cautious and prevent potential fraud in grain measurement and distribution. Roy highlighted the approaching assembly elections and ongoing scrutiny by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) as reasons for heightened awareness. (
