Jamshedpur: With the announcement of elections for the head post of Sakchi Gurudwara Sahib, acting head Nishan Singh formally declared his candidature on Sunday, reiterating his unwavering commitment to the service of the Gurughar and the Sangat. Addressing the media during a press conference held at a hotel in Sakchi, Singh expressed confidence that truth and seva (service) will triumph over falsehood with the blessings and support of the Sangat.
Nishan Singh, who has held the position of acting head for the past three years, highlighted key decisions and developmental works undertaken during his tenure. He emphasized that he has always prioritized the welfare of the Gurudwara and the Sangat, and is now going among the community with the account of his service and accomplishments.
“The Sangat is supreme. I believe that in this fight between truth and falsehood, the Sangat will bless me once again in the form of seva,” said Nishan Singh. He asserted that he is presenting himself before the community based on the foundation of his service-oriented leadership.
During the press conference, Gurudwara General Secretary Paramjit Singh Kale and Treasurer Jasbir Singh Gandhi were also present. Kale handed over copies of the balance sheet of the last three years to the journalists, reinforcing transparency in the Gurudwara’s financial affairs.
Kale strongly refuted the allegations made by opponents, calling them “baseless and factless.” He clarified that every year on Baisakhi, a full audit of the Gurudwara’s income and expenditure is conducted and presented publicly from the stage before the Sangat.
“The opposition is scared of Nishan Singh’s rising popularity. That’s why they are resorting to false allegations. But the Sangat knows the truth. The work done by our committee is not only acknowledged in Jamshedpur but is being talked about internationally,” Kale added.
Nishan Singh also announced the formal launch of his election campaign, which he said would be grounded in the development and service initiatives accomplished during his term. Both Singh and Kale maintained that their team has delivered more than they promised, and they are ready to seek the Sangat’s blessings again on the strength of their performance.
Others present at the press conference included Shamsher Singh Soni, Sunny Singh, Satbir Singh Goldu, and Balbir Singh Dhanjal, signaling a united front ahead of the Gurudwara elections.
