Jamshedpur: The pace of development in Potka seems to have struck a roadblock following a dispute between the rural development department and a local agency Mangaldeep Infrastructure.
Sources said that due to the continuing dispute, the main construction of Durku-Gurudwara main road has been lying pending for the last six months. The foundation for this road project was laid by the local MP and MLA under a scheme funded by the state government.
Sources revealed that the contracting agency had produced a bill of Rs 20 lakh. On getting the bill, the executive engineer replied to the agency and threatened to put its name in the list of debarred contractors.
Local residents have alleged that the pending project threatens to give rise to mishaps throughout the stretch between Durku and the Gurudwara. They said the district authorities concerned should initiate necessary steps to resolve the stand-off between the rural development department and the contracting agency. They demanded that the project should be completed under the supervision of senior administrative authorities.
