Rotary Jamshedpur West upgrades Bhatia Basti govt. school to Happy School

Jamshedpur, Jan. 20:District Governor of Rotary District 3250, Dr R Bharat visited Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West on Friday, January 20. This was part of his Official Club visit for the year 2016-17.

This is the time when Dist Governor interacts with Club members and invited guests and has a check on activities as well as their financial and official record. He shares his thoughts and inspires Rotarians to do better in future. The Club members interact with him share their thoughts and seek advice.

District Governor along with Asst Governor Mrs Katy Gabba scrutinised the paper work of Rotary West and found them satisfactory.

Then District Governor, asst Governor along with senior members of the Club visited Birsa Basti adult education centre, and distributed certificates to pass out candidates.

He also interacted with them on what they have learnt and how their classes help them in future. Ladies of Vocational training presented food products to Dist Governor. President Alakananda, Secretary Shweta and other Club members accompanied them.

Dist Governor then visited Utkramit Bhatia BastiGovt. School and inaugurated it as Happy School project. Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West completed all criteria of Happy School by making library with books and Almirah, curtains, indoor and outdoor games, See Saw, Benches and desks, 5 computers for E- Learning with study module, renovated toilet, installed Wash basin, gifted 200 school shoes, 20 fans, Water Filter and most importantly installed Hand Wash basin —wash station with six taps.

This way, Rotary West fulfilled all criteria of making a Govt. school a “Happy School”.

Then he visited Hari Sundarpur Village—a project with corporate partner Jusco and saw mushroom farming. He also saw Saheli training centre, New swings of children and Tippy Tap system of Hand wash, which he highly appreciated.

Later he visited Gurukul—a residential school for underprivileged children and highly appreciated their Yoga skills and discipline. This project has got new facilities through Global Grant system.

He also visited Deeksha centre Sonari, visited Clothes Bank, weekly dispensary,distributed Computer learning Certificates, and listened to poetry of children of toddler school.He also visited Sanitary Napkin Making project of Rotary West and appreciated the novel initiative of the Club.

In the evening, he met the Press personnel and appreciated the good work of the Club and discussed Rotary’s Motto.
In the evening Public function, he discussed Rotary’s motto of serving humanity, goals of the district and how each person can help in Rotary’s Foundation projects and also get benefitted by those.

President of the club Alakananda Bakshi, Secretary Shweta Chand, Amitava Bakshi, Achinto Banerjee, Suchanda Banerjee, Rakesh Chand, Nibha Mishra, Sudha Goel, Mukul Rai, Rajender Sachdev, Bipin Srivastava, Payal Ranjan, Neelam Wadera and others accompanied the Dist Governor.
