Ranchi: The Cabinet has given its nod to the revised rules governing the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), paving the way for the upcoming 11th Civil Services Examination. The amendments, based on recommendations from a committee led by L Khyangte, bring significant changes to the Civil Services Examination Rules 2021.
According to the approved rules, candidates participating in the Civil Services Examination must meet a minimum age requirement of 21 years and a maximum age limit of 35 years as of August 1st in the advertisement year. This adjustment provides a clear framework for the eligibility criteria.
Additionally, a notable change in the examination pattern has been introduced. In the main written examination, candidates are now required to qualify only in Paper One, focusing on language proficiency in General Hindi and General English. However, the marks obtained in this paper will not be factored into the merit list. This modification aims to streamline the evaluation process and place a greater emphasis on other components of the examination.
With these approved amendments, the 11th JPSC can now proceed in accordance with the updated guidelines, offering candidates a clear understanding of the age eligibility and examination structure.
