Late Penalty Denies Jamshedpur FC U16 Victory in Final Group Match

Jamshedpur, May 7: Jamshedpur FC U16 ended their AIFF U16 Junior League Final Round campaign with a dramatic 3-3 draw against SSE BFC Soccer Schools in their final Group B fixture on May 7 in Goa.

The young Men of Steel produced their best performance of the final round and were moments away from securing their first victory before a late penalty in the final seconds of the match allowed the opposition to equalise.

Jamshedpur FC opened the scoring in the 20th minute through Shuklal, who gave the team an early advantage with a composed finish. After the opponents fought back into the game, JFC responded strongly just before halftime with two quick goals. Motay restored the lead in the 43rd minute before Marshal added another a minute later in the 44th minute to put Jamshedpur ahead 3-1 heading into the break.

The team showed improved intensity and attacking intent compared to their previous matches, creating chances and competing with confidence throughout the contest.

In the second half, even though they scored a goal off a defensive error, Jamshedpur controlled the game most of the time.

As the game entered its final moments, Jamshedpur looked set to finish the tournament with all three points. However, SSE BFC Soccer Schools were awarded a penalty in the dying seconds of the match and converted from the spot to make it 3-3.

Despite the disappointment of conceding late, the result saw Jamshedpur FC U16 earn their only point of the final round and end their campaign with a spirited performance.
