Jamshedpur, May 26: Raghunath Pandey was co opted in the Tata Steel UISL Workers Union (formerly Jusco Shramik Union) on Monday at the general body meeting of the union.
The general meeting was organized at Jusco Greens in the office premises of Tata Steel UISL. All the members were allowed entry amid tight security. Under this, first tributes were paid to the deceased. After this, Raghunath Pandey was unanimously selected as the honorary member of the union. A proposal for his co-option was brought, which was approved by all the members.
After this, the election program is being announced. The union election is likely to be held on June 10. Its final program is yet to be released.
Meanwhile, election officer C S Jha, election committee members Saroj Pandey and Ashwini Mathan have together implemented the model code of conduct.
Related information regarding the election has also been issued. The nomination form for committee member is priced at Rs 1,000, Rs 3,000 for the post of vice-president and assistant secretary, and Rs 5,000 for the single post of president, executive president, deputy president, general secretary and treasurer.
This election will be held for three years. Union membership should be registered in April 2025, one month before the date of declaration of election.
Apart from this, those who are members of the union for two consecutive years can contest its election. A three-year term has been fixed for the union officer. Carrying electronic gadgets or mobiles to polling stations has been banned.
