Raghubar Das walks barefooted in� ‘Kalash Yatra’

Jamshedpur : Chief minister Raghubar Das along with his wife Rukmini walked barefooted during a ‘Kalash Yatra’ from the Surya Mandir in Sidhgora to Agrico Transport Ground for the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha.

The chief minister was here for the four-day Bhagwat Katha which will have religious discourse by well known Hindu preacher Sadhvi Rithambara arrived at the Surya Mandir premises at around 12 noon and after performing puja carried out by the priests at the Surya Mandir left for the Agrico Transport ground at around 1 pm.

While his wife Rukmini Das (52) clad in a saffron saree and red chunni carried the kalash on her head, Das attired in a saffron kurta and white churidar and a turban carried the holy Bhagwad Geeta on head as they led the kalash yatra.�
Reaching the Agrico Transport ground the chief minister and his wife then took part in the rituals known as �kalash sthaphna�.

Meanwhile, a crowd of more than 10,000 were present at the Agrico Transport ground to listen to the religious discourse which began from 3 pm till 6.30 pm.�

A giant pandal erected in an area of nearly 27,500 sq feet has been set up for the occasion with separate sitting arrangement for men and women.
