Jamshedpur : In view of the cases related to violation of model code of conduct during the 2009 assembly elections, Chief Minister Raghubar Das appeared at the Jamshedpur civil court today.
BJP’s East Singhbhum district president Chandra Shekhar Mishra also appeared before the courts of chief judicial magistrate, Ashok Kumar, sub-divisional judicial magistrate, PK Tiwary and court of first class judicial magistrate MP Tripathy.
In the court of the SDJM and the CJM Ashok, both leaders had just made their personal appearance in connection to the violation of code of conduct pending there.
According to sources in the court, a case related to violation of model code of conduct was registered at the Sidhgora police station after the then sub-divisional officer, Dhalbhum Kartik Kumar Prabhat had found a BJP flag hoisted at a residential quarters in Sidhgora. Das was the BJP nominee from the Jamshedpur East constituency and the then district president of the party Chandra Shekhar faced the case.
Das and Chandra Shekhar said that this was an important case and their appearance was necessary because the procedure of charge-framing was to be followed following their appearance. In rest of the two cases pending in the court of the SDJM and the CJM, the Chief Minister and the then BJP president had appeared for making the attendance only.
