Racket Sports Fest returns to Jamshedpur

Two-day event to feature badminton, tennis, squash and pickleball

Jamshedpur, July 15: Tata Steel is set to organise the 2nd edition of the Tata Steel Racket Sports Fest 2026 on July 25–26 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur.

The two-day sporting event will feature four popular racket sports — Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Squash, and Pickleball — providing an exciting platform for sports enthusiasts to showcase their skills, promote fitness, and strengthen pan-India community engagement through the spirit of sport.

The inaugural edition of the Racket Sports Fest received an overwhelming response last year, with enthusiastic participation from players across various age groups and strong appreciation from the sporting community. Building on this success, the second edition aims to create a more engaging and inclusive platform that encourages participation, healthy competition, and meaningful social connections.

Promoting Fitness Through the Spirit of Sport

Racket sports such as Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Squash, and Pickleball are highly effective in promoting physical fitness and encouraging an active lifestyle. These dynamic sports help enhance cardiovascular endurance, agility, coordination, balance, and overall physical conditioning. Regular participation not only improves athletic performance but also fosters discipline, consistency, and a commitment to personal fitness.

Game Best For Intensity
Badminton Speed, reflexes, agility High
Squash Endurance, full-body workout Very High
Lawn Tennis Power, strategy, stamina High
Pickleball Joints, beginners, social play Medium-Low

Racket sports give you cardio + strength + brain training + social fun in one package. That’s why companies and colleges push them – they build both fitness and team spirit.

Fitness: The Foundation of a Healthy Lifestyle

Wellness is a fundamental pillar of a balanced and fulfilling life. In an increasingly fast-paced world, engaging in sporting and recreational activities contributes significantly to mental rejuvenation, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. An active lifestyle promotes greater focus, resilience, and positivity, enabling individuals to lead healthier and more productive lives. Through initiatives such as the Tata Steel Racket Sports Fest, Tata Steel continues to advocate the importance of holistic well-being and healthy living.

 Building Connections Beyond Competition

The Tata Steel Racket Sports Fest is envisioned as more than a competitive sporting event. It serves as a platform for bringing people together through shared enthusiasm for sports, encouraging interaction, collaboration, and community bonding. The event will provide participants an opportunity to connect with fellow sports enthusiasts, exchange experiences, and celebrate the values of teamwork, inclusivity, and sporting excellence. By creating a vibrant and positive environment, the fest aims to strengthen the sense of belonging within the community.

“At Tata Steel, we believe that fitness is the foundation of a productive and healthy life. Racket Sports Fest 2.0 is our effort to encourage employees, students, and the community to embrace sports like badminton, tennis, squash, and pickleball. This initiative reflects our commitment to encourage the youth and our workforce to lead active lifestyles. We look forward to seeing passion, teamwork, and sportsmanship shine through this event,” said Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief, Sports, Tata Steel
