Purnima Netralaya opens hi-tech centre at Sakchi

Jamshedpur, Sept. 21: A hi-tech centre of Purnima Netralaya was inaugurated today at Sakchi behind Agrasen Bhawan. Managing trusteee of Brahmananda Seva Sadan, Monu Bhattacharjee inaugurated the new facility. This is the fifth centre in the city. He said the unit was dedicated to the cause of eye care in the state. He said the new facility will prove to be a boon for the needy people who will be able to avail the facility in their own city itself.

Bhattacharjee said the Purnima Netralaya had done a great service to humanity and the people suffering from vision problems through the opening of the new unit of the hospital.

Ramavtar Purohit of Purnima Netralaya said that the hospital has played a key role in eye care. Meanwhile, he also added that eye diseases are very common and lack of awareness is also a matter of concern.

�People in our society still rely on traditional means of eye treatment. There are many who never even bother for screening of their sight. I think it is high time we change our attitude,� he pointed out. He said that our centre is also well equipped with all types of facilities related to eye care.

‘In the last 15 years, Purnima Netralaya through its centres in Tamolia, Kadma, Adityapur and Jugsalai City Clinic has successfully carried out complex surgery of eye related problems’, added Purohit.

Present on the occasion were Chief medical officer Dr. Monica Horo, NKR Nair, Sapan Ghosh, Rajendra Agarwal, Balmukund Goyal, Bajrang Bhartia, Vijay Anand moonka, Devendra Purohit, Murlidhar Kedia, Sriniwas Rao, Tulsi and others.
