Jamshedpur: Residents of East Ghorabandha Panchayat area in Jamshedpur staged a demonstration at the office of the Executive Engineer in Karandih on Tuesday, protesting against arbitrary electricity billing practices. The protest, attended by MLA Mangal Kalindi, highlighted grievances over inconsistent meter readings leading to irregular and unfair billing.
During the demonstration, MLA Mangal Kalindi engaged in discussions with the Executive Engineer and consumers present, emphasizing the need for accurate meter readings to ensure fairness in billing. Consumers expressed concerns about irregular visits by meter readers, leading to discrepancies where some receive inflated bills while others are undercharged.
Assuring corrective measures, the Executive Engineer pledged to rectify erroneous bills and ensure timely meter readings moving forward. MLA Mangal Kalindi directed the Engineer to take action against negligent meter readers and to provide updates on the corrective actions taken.
