Assets worth crores distributed to primitive tribes

Jamshedpur, Feb 24: In a significant initiative aimed at empowering primitive tribal communities, a state-level legal services cum empowerment camp was organized in Palashbani Panchayat, Jamshedpur. The event, conducted under the auspices of the District Legal Services Authority, Jamshedpur, and the District Administration, East Singhbhum, witnessed the distribution of assets worth crores of rupees to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
The event, held on the instructions of Jhalsa, saw the participation of eminent dignitaries, including Jhalsa’s acting president Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, High Court Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi, and Principal District and Sessions Judge Jamshedpur Anil Kumar Mishra. The camp aimed to create awareness among primitive tribal people about government schemes tailored for their development.
The program commenced with a traditional Chhau dance performance by tribal artists, setting a vibrant tone for the proceedings. Distinguished guests were honored with flower bunches, turbans, traditional caps, shawls, and mementos. Lighting of the lamp by the guests inaugurated the event, followed by a welcome speech from Principal District and Sessions Judge Anil Kumar Mishra.

Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, in his address, emphasized the importance of these mega camps in reaching the weaker sections and primitive tribal groups. He urged tribal citizens to actively participate in the development process, become aware of their rights, and avail themselves of government welfare schemes. Justice Prasad highlighted the National Legal Services Authority’s (NALSA) objective to expedite case resolutions through Lok Adalat and Mediation, ensuring justice for the underprivileged.
Justice Sanjay Kumar Divedi underscored the camp’s significance in promoting legal awareness and educating people about their rights. Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar Singha provided detailed information about central and state government schemes for primitive tribes and weaker sections.
The mega camp, attended by over 10,000 people, witnessed the distribution of assets worth Rs 159 crore among 11,227 beneficiaries. Various government departments set up stalls to disseminate information and connect eligible individuals with welfare schemes. The success of the program was attributed to the collaborative efforts of the court bench, Para Legal Volunteers (PLV), and the district administration.
Judicial Magistrate Ekta Saxena and Jyotsna Pandey jointly conducted the program, with Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal delivering the vote of thanks.
