Jamshedpur Restaurateur arrested, released on bail

Jamshedpur, Feb 24: Arnab Ghosh, the son of Ashok Ghosh and resident of Crystal Square, Bistupur, Jamshedpur, has leveled serious allegations against Jaspal Singh, owner of Blue Diamond Restaurant. Ghosh claims that he has been falsely accused by Jaspal Singh, leading to legal actions being taken. In a countermove, Ghosh has filed a case against Singh, who was subsequently taken into custody by the Bistupur police in connection with a check bounce case. However, Singh secured immediate bail from the court.

Arnab Ghosh alleges that Jaspal Singh operates the Blue Diamond Hotel within Ghosh’s own building. Ghosh asserts that Singh has not paid rent since the onset of the lockdown, accumulating dues amounting to Rs 40 lakh. Despite a lack of a legal agreement over the past two years, a pending case (number 42/22) revolves around this dispute. Regarding the bounced check, Ghosh contends that it was initially given to Jaspal Singh in 2020 for settling JUSCO’s electricity bill but was misused, resulting in a stop-payment situation and the subsequent legal action.

While Arnab Ghosh accuses Jaspal Singh of evading rent through legal maneuvers, Jaspal Singh maintains that Arnab owes him money and has refused to pay, prompting him to file a case that led to Arnab’s arrest.
