Hemant reaffirms commitment to tribal welfare during Baha Parv
Jamshedpur: The grand festival of nature worship, ‘Baha Parv,’ was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm in the city on Saturday. Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren marked the occasion by offering prayers with traditional rituals at the Sarna worship site, Jaherthan, located in Shastrinagar, Kadma. The ceremony was attended by a large number of devotees and community members who gathered to pay homage to nature and seek blessings for the well-being of the state.

Baha Parv, a significant festival for the tribal communities, symbolizes reverence for nature, gratitude for a good harvest, and prayers for prosperity. The rituals at Jaherthan were conducted with deep spiritual fervor, reflecting the deep-rooted cultural traditions of the region. The Chief Minister, in his address, highlighted the importance of preserving indigenous traditions and maintaining harmony with nature. During the event, the Chief Minister also paid tribute to the legendary Guru Gomke Pandit Raghunath Murmu by garlanding his statue. Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the revered scholar and social reformer, played a crucial role in the promotion of the Santali language and script. Honoring his contributions, Soren reiterated the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting tribal languages, customs, and heritage.

MLA Kalpana Soren also expressed her deep respect for tribal traditions and highlighted the role of women in preserving cultural values. She emphasized the need for empowering tribal communities through education, skill development, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. She assured that the government is committed to the welfare of every section of society, especially the marginalized and underprivileged.

The event saw the participation of several tribal leaders, community elders, and cultural performers who showcased traditional music and dance, adding vibrancy to the celebrations. The atmosphere was filled with rhythmic beats of traditional instruments, creating an aura of devotion and joy.
