Prerna Kumari is Jamshedpur Arts topper in CBSE 12th Board Exam

Jamshedpur, July 22: Prerna Kumari of DAV School, Bistupur, became the city topper in Arts by scoring 98 per cent marks in aggregate in the CBSE 12th Board Exams. She fetched 100 marks each in History and Political Science, 96 in English and 97 each in Economics and Geography. She scored a total of 490 marks out of 500.

A resident of Harharguttu, Prerna attributes her success to her parents, teachers and NCERT books. Aspiring to become a civil servant, she wants to prepare for UPSC exams. In order to achieve her goal, she is awaiting admission in Delhi University. “I have appeared in Common University Entrance Test and hope to get admission soon. I will prepare for UPSC from there,” she said.

Prerna’s father CK Singh is an electric loco pilot in Railways and her mother Poonam Singh is a homemaker.

“I studied for ten hours every day in a time-bound manner and only read my course books,” said the topper who also loves painting during leisure time.

Prerna rues not getting three more marks in Economics, which happened due to her lower marks in second term. She says she should have got equal weightage in both terms.
