Jamshedpur, July 22: Rohit Kumar of Jamshedpur Public School, Baridih, secured 92.6 per cent marks in Science stream in the CBSE 12th Board Exams. He aspires to become an IITian, a dream once nurtured by his father who died just a week before his Board exams.
“My father, who worked in Hazaribagh ITI, was supposed to leave for Magisterial duty in Matric Board exams on 24th March. Just a day before, he spoke to us all nicely and the next day he passed away following a massive heart attack. It was shocking for us all. Being the eldest son, I performed my father’s last rites. I still remember my father’s wish that I should study at the IITs. Although it was difficult, I took the CBSE Board Exams and tried to get good marks,” said Rohit who believes that making his father’s dreams come true would be true tribute to him.
Rohit did not get the expected marks in this year’s JEE Main exams. He plans to make a second attempt next year to get better rank and fulfill his father’s dream.
Rohit’s elder sister is preparing for medical entrance test.
