Preparations in full swing for Chhath Puja at Surya Mandir, Dimple Bhoomi to perform in Jamshedpur on Oct 27

Jamshedpur: Preparations for the grand Chhath festival at the Surya Mandir complex in Sidhgora are in their final stages. On Thursday, the Surya Mandir Committee held a press conference at a hotel in Bhalubasa, where patron Chandragupta Singh, president Bhupendra Singh, and media in-charge Pramod Mishra shared details of the arrangements.

Committee president Bhupendra Singh informed that vigorous preparations are underway at all levels to ensure the smooth conduct of the Chhath festival. Cleaning and painting work is being carried out across the temple premises, including both ponds. After thorough cleaning, the ponds are being painted and will soon be filled with clean, clear water. Attractive lighting and floral decorations will adorn the temple complex, with special illumination planned for the Sun Temple itself.

The roads leading to the temple are also being cleaned, and volunteers of the committee will assist devotees and visitors during the festival. As in previous years, puja materials will be sold on a no-profit, no-loss basis to facilitate devotees.

Patron Chandragupta Singh announced that all entrances of the temple will be opened for devotees at 2 p.m., and offerings to Lord Bhaskar will be made on a first-come, first-served basis at the ghat. He added that on the evening of October 27, renowned folk singers Dimple Bhoomi and Maanvi Singh, along with local artists, will present a devotional cultural program at Shankh Maidan in the temple complex. The musical evening will begin at 7 p.m. during the evening offering of Chhath Arghya.

Bhupendra Singh further informed that on October 26, the committee will distribute free worship materials among 1100 economically weaker devotees observing the fast. Workers from different areas have been assigned to identify and prepare a list of beneficiaries. Media in-charge Pramod Mishra added that the distribution will take place from 10 a.m. onwards in the Surya Dham premises, where worship kits will be provided with devotion to the identified families.
