Jamshedpur: Praveshotsava was organized at Kasturba Vidyalaya in Potka to mark the commencement of new academic session on Wednesday. It was held on the initiative of the deputy collector of Chief Minister�s Camp Office Sanjay Kumar.
The chief guest of the occasion was the MLA of Potka Menka Sardar. She congratulated the students promoted to higher classes and planted saplings with the students on the school premises.
The students were asked to take care of the saplings. They were joined by the warden Lalita Kumari, teachers Jyoti Sagar, Sandhya Rani Mahato, Pramila Soren, Suchita Kumari, Ruma Haldhar and Anita Tigga.
The students in whose names saplings were planted today included Sankhi Baskey, Chali Kisku, Baijyanti Murmu, Asha Mahali, Laxmi Munda, Yamuna Murmu, Raveena Kalindi, Baliva Soren, Usha Patra and Sukhmati Kumari.
After plantation, the MLA queried about the admission procession and the status of applications received so far this year.
