Jamshedpur, April 5: Jawara puja was observed in Jamshedpur during the Navratri celebration. The puja which started on the first day of Navratri concluded with the immersion procession on the occasion of Navami on Wednesday.
The devotees had pierced their body and mouth and proceeded towards temples to worship Goddess Durga. Temples in Sonari, Garabasa, Kasidih were the prominent spot for ‘Jawara puja’.
Devotees of all age groups, including girls and women, pierced their bodies, to please the goddess. Jawara yatra was also organised in different parts of town.
Jawara is one of the main celebration in our town Jamshedpur. North Indian community of town perform nine days rituals, ladies mainly observe fast on these nine days.
Main celebration was organised on asthmi and navami. People arrange kanya bhojan and worship small girls on this specific day.
In different temples as well as at home people also worship goddess Durga with Jawara and enlighten akhand dipak for nine days.
