Over 22 lakh voter records await verification in Jharkhand

Jharkhand election authorities face a tight deadline with over 22.84 lakh voter verification cases still pending.
The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls must finish within 26 days across all state districts.
Officials initially identified 59.53 lakh cases under the categories of no mapping and logical discrepancy.
Field officers have successfully resolved 36.69 lakh cases so far across various administrative zones.
The pending work includes 7.95 lakh unmapped voters and 14.88 lakh records with logical discrepancies.
Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar released the latest official statistics on November 4.
Authorities have updated 6,08,618 no mapping records on the official ECINet portal until now.
This accomplishment represents only 43.35 per cent of the 14,04,033 total identified unmapped cases.
Unmapped cases require verification of voters whose family details miss links to 2003 rolls.
Meanwhile, teams achieved a better 67.28 per cent resolution rate in the logical discrepancy category.
Staff resolved 30,61,159 discrepancy cases out of the 45,49,961 total cases identified statewide.
Logical discrepancy scrutiny corrects abnormal age gaps and relationship errors between family members.
West Singhbhum district leads the state by disposing of 96.16 per cent unmapped voter cases.
Lohardaga, Deoghar, Ramgarh, and Gumla districts also registered strong progress in resolving unmapped entries.
Conversely, Giridih district recorded the lowest clearance rate at just 19.52 per cent so far.
Sahibganj, Palamu, Pakur, and Ranchi districts also showed poor progress in updating unmapped records.
West Singhbhum and Lohardaga top the logical discrepancy category with nearly 100 per cent completion.
Pakur, Sahibganj, Palamu, and Ranchi districts lag significantly behind in clearing discrepancy cases.
The state completed 97.91 per cent of the 1.61 crore cases in other categories.
Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar ordered slow districts to accelerate verification before the deadline.
