DC review district education department
Jamshedpur, April 5: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Vijaya Jadhav reviewed the education department at Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, Sundernagar and discussion were held on inclusive education, performance of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Mid-Day Meal Scheme etc.
Directive was issued to get the remaining schools registered in two days and final submission of all the schools without delay for the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22, . Along with this, after checking the list of private schools which have been closed due to lock don, all the blocks were directed to make them available to the district headquarters immediately.
Regarding the availability of electricity facility in the schools, a clear order was given that after taking the report in writing from an engineer of the department, the schools which have not been connected to electricity, will make the report along with the list available at the district headquarters. Instructions were also given to make available the list of 67 dilapidated schools which have been demolished so that a new building can be constructed by including it in the plan of the district. Regarding the functioning of drinking water and toilets, all the Block Education Extension Officers were directed to get the list available after re-evaluating once. Within ten days, instructions were given to make functional toilets and drinking water facilities in all schools and to complete the work of blackboard paint etc.
The Deputy Commissioner said that monthly evaluation should be started in all the schools so that remedial classes can be run according to the achievement of the children. Along with this, the basic facilities available in Kasturba Gandhi Residential School and Jharkhand Girls Residential School were reviewed.
Before the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various classes and interacted with the girl students and guided them. She took maths class in class seven and economics in class eight and stressed on giving practical education to the children. All the teachers were advised to use concept-based learning, motivate the child to ask questions and the teachers should also keep themselves updated through internet.
Especially regarding cleanliness, menstrual hygiene, good touch-bad touch etc., it was said by the District Deputy Commissioner that it would be redundant to give only bookish knowledge in the school where children spend their valuable time. It is the responsibility of all of us to take care of the overall mental and physical development of the children. During this, he also observed the cleanliness and kitchen and other facilities available in the school premises. In order to inspect the kitchen, the quality of the food was checked and instructions were given to provide nutritious and menu-according food.
