Jharkhand launches month-long ‘Back to School’ campaign 

Public representatives, school committees, government officials join hand to check dropout, ensure attendance 

Ranchi, April 5: Jharkhand education and literacy department on Tuesday launched a state-wide Back to School campaign ‘School Ruaar 22’. Under this, this campaign was started to bring back students in the age group of 5 to 18 in government schools and to maintain regular attendance. This program will run from April 5 to May 4, 2022.

According to Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) project director, Kiran Pasi the campaign is aimed at retention and enrolment of schools students and bring back those students who had dropped out of school, children of migrant workers and special children who might have dropped out due to closure of school for nearly two years during Covid pandemic.

Initiating ‘School Ruaar 22’ in Ranchi by lighting the lamp, Ranchi deputy development commissioner Vishal Sagar said that many children are currently out of school after the school was closed for almost two years due to Corona epidemic and efforts is to ensure that  no child is left out of school. Under this campaign, there will be a special focus on this. At the same time, ADPO Ranchi gave detailed information about the activities to be done under the campaign.

During the campaign, it will also be reviewed that how many children have taken admission in higher classes after passing primary and upper primary classes and find out if students are not getting dropout. For this, mapping of all primary schools with middle schools and middle schools with high schools has been asked. Others, including out of school children, have also been asked to mark them with the Dahar app and ensure enrollment.

The back to school campaign has been started for reconnecting children with schools and 100% attendance. Children will be encouraged to come back to school by organizing several programs for a whole month. Along with coordinating with various departments, efforts will be made to make this campaign successful with MPs, MLAs, panchayat representatives and executive representatives of Gram Panchayats.

During the campaign, necessary instructions have already been given to all schools about various activities to be carried out as part of the campaign, including colour-painting, repair of class rooms, proper arrangement of toilets and drinking water, organising innovative extracurricular activities as part of No-Bag Day..

 Schools, Blocks and Districts who have excelled in ‘School Ruar 22’ will be felicitated. At the district level, meeting with public representatives, district level officers of all departments, Block Development Officer, Area Education Officer and Block Education Extension Officer, BRP-CRP and others, enrollment and attendance of children received through e-Vidyavahini will be reviewed.Programs will be organized by dividing the 30 days of the campaign into two parts. Under this, work will be done on the meeting and strategy in the office under the district and block for the first 10 days. In the remaining days, programs will be organized in schools. During these 20 days, different activities will be done in schools every day, in which teachers and children will be participating. Monitoring of ‘School Ruar 2022’ program will be done by all the officers and personnel working at the district project office and block level through e-Vidyavahini portal
