Jamshedpur: In a significant move to improve educational facilities for tribal students, Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar met Chamra Linda, Minister of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, and Backward Class Welfare Department, Jharkhand, demanding the construction of a new 100-bed hostel within the Tribal Welfare Hostel campus at LBSM College, Karandih, Jamshedpur.
During his meeting, MLA Sanjib Sardar highlighted the critical shortage of accommodation in the existing Tribal Welfare Hostel, where 250 to 300 students currently reside. Due to insufficient space, many students are forced to rent rooms elsewhere or commute long distances daily, which adds to their financial and physical struggles.
He urged the minister to sanction a new hostel facility to accommodate more students, ensuring they receive a better educational environment without the burden of additional expenses.
Responding to the demand, Minister Chamra Linda assured that the department will take necessary steps at the earliest to address the issue. He acknowledged the growing need for better infrastructure to support tribal students and emphasized the government’s commitment to their welfare.
This initiative by MLA Sardar is expected to bring a much-needed relief to tribal students in the region. The MLA has been actively advocating for better educational infrastructure, working towards creating more opportunities for students and youth in his constituency.
If approved, the new 100-bed hostel will provide a safe and supportive environment for tribal students, enabling them to focus on their education without the stress of inadequate living conditions.
