PM disburses Rs 2,400 Crore to 15 lakh beneficiaries

Jamshedpur, June 19: As part of a nationwide programme under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), Member of Parliament Bidyut Baran Mahato attended a regional event at the Motilal Nehru Public School Auditorium in Jamshedpur.
The main programme, held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi disburse incentives worth Rs 2,400 crore to more than 15 lakh beneficiaries across the country. Simultaneously, regional outreach events were organised at 200 locations nationwide to connect beneficiaries, employers, and stakeholders with the flagship employment-linked initiative.
The Jamshedpur event was attended by MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, Regional Committee Member Ambuj Thakur, Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce president Manav Kedia, along with senior government officials, industry representatives, employers, EPFO officers, and beneficiaries.
A total of 380 participants attended the programme, including 300 beneficiaries and 60 employers.
During the event, employers handed over 16 appointment letters to newly recruited employees, marking their entry into the formal workforce.
Employers present at the programme appreciated the Government of India’s efforts to promote employment generation through incentives for hiring additional workers. Beneficiaries also expressed enthusiasm about becoming part of the formal employment sector and gaining access to social security benefits under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) system.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato described PM-VBRY as a transformative initiative for the country’s youth. He said the scheme provides financial support to first-time employees, encourages industries to create new jobs, strengthens social security coverage through EPFO, and contributes to the vision of a developed India through large-scale employment generation.
Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) is a flagship Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme aimed at promoting formal employment, supporting first-time entrants into the organised workforce, and incentivising employers to generate additional jobs. Under the scheme, eligible first-time employees receive financial assistance equivalent to one month’s wage, up to Rs 15,000, while employers receive incentives for up to two years for creating new employment opportunities. The manufacturing sector is eligible for an additional two years of support to encourage sustained job creation.
The live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address from Vigyan Bhavan was screened at the Jamshedpur venue, where public representatives, employers, employees, and distinguished guests participated in the programme.
