Jamshedpur, June 19: High drama unfolded in Kadma on Friday when a Tata Steel team arrived to evict an alleged unauthorized occupant from a company residential quarter. The occupant, identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arvind Singh, currently posted at Mango Traffic Police Station, is accused of illegally occupying the Tata Steel quarter for nearly two and a half years.
According to sources, the quarter had originally been allotted to a Tata Steel employee who vacated it after retirement. It is alleged that following the employee’s departure, the ASI unlawfully took possession of the property and even secured electricity and water connections without authorization.
Tata Steel management reportedly issued multiple notices directing him to vacate the premises, but the occupation continued despite repeated warnings.

On Friday, an authorized Tata Steel team reached the quarter to carry out eviction proceedings in accordance with administrative procedures. However, the ASI allegedly resisted the action, behaved aggressively with company officials, tore up the eviction notice, and used his position as a police officer to intimidate the team, warning them of serious consequences.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the confrontation created a tense atmosphere at the site, drawing a large crowd from the surrounding area. The situation was eventually brought under control by officials present at the scene.

Tata Steel management has lodged a written complaint with Kadma Police Station regarding the incident. The company is also preparing a detailed report on the episode for submission to the concerned authorities.
The action was reportedly part of Tata Steel’s ongoing drive to remove unauthorized occupants from its residential quarters. The incident has sparked considerable discussion within administrative and police circles.
