Jamshedpur, Feb 26: Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan hailed the transformative ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ at the Tatanagar Railway Station during his presence there to mark the event that saw the roll out of redevelopment of 553 railway stations and the foundation stone-laying, inauguration, and dedication of 1,500 road overbridges/underpasses under this visionary scheme, orchestrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Governor extended his gratitude to the Prime Minister, acknowledging the scheme’s reflection of a holistic commitment towards enhancing efficiency and infrastructure within the Indian railways’ network. Recognizing the pivotal role of the Indian Railways in facilitating the seamless movement of people and goods across the country, he praised the comprehensive approach of the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.’

Governor Radhakrishnan, in particular, commended Prime Minister Modi’s impactful initiatives such as the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,’ which had significantly elevated the cleanliness and efficiency standards of railway stations, platforms, waiting areas, and station premises.

Emphasizing the Prime Minister’s dedication to developing the railway network in Jharkhand, the Governor highlighted the meaningful steps taken through the redevelopment of Tatanagar and other railway stations in the state. He asserted that initiatives like the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Yojna’ were crucial steps towards achieving the vision of a ‘Developed India @2047.’

As part of the celebration, Governor Radhakrishnan felicitated the winners of various competitions organized at the South Eastern Railway High School in Tatanagar. The competitions centered on envisioning a ‘Developed India of 2047 through Developed Railways.’

Continuing his engagement, the Governor visited the Annamrit Foundation, where he witnessed the operations and participated in the tree-planting initiative. The Annamrit Foundation is instrumental in providing mid-day meals to government school students, contributing to the well-being and nourishment of the youth in the region.

The entire event showcased a convergence of visionary schemes, public participation, and commitments to a brighter and more developed future for the railways and the state as a whole. Governor Radhakrishnan’s visit served as a testament to the positive impact of collaborative efforts in driving progress and development.

On this occasion, MP Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato, Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal and others were present.

Tatanagar railway station, an iconic landmark in Jamshedpur, has been earmarked for development at a cost outlay of Rs 350 crore under the Amrit Bharat Scheme, signifying its importance in the scheme of national progress. As part of this undertaking, the project includes the construction of crucial Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) at strategic locations such as Barigora (LC 138) and Govindpur (LC 137). Additionally, a railway underbridge near Salgajhuri and another beyond Haldipokhar on the Tata-Badampahar railway route are integral components of the development plan.

A noteworthy addition to the project is the construction of a subway connecting Galudih and Rakhamines in the Kharagpur Railway Division. This subway promises to enhance the region’s accessibility and ease of travel for both commuters and cargo transport.
