Jamshedpur: Taking a dig over Government’s inefficient policy to check rising petrol prices, All India Sikh Students Federation organised a Petrol Loan Mela on Sunday. It made people get loans to purchase expensive petrol in easy instalments.
In the mela the participants were asked to make down payment of Rs 10 and four cheques were taken of 20-20 rupees.
Satnam Singh Gambhir, president of the Federation said that the public has become alarmed by the constant increase in petroleum products. People will have to take a loan on petrol. Gambhir said that the government should withdraw the rights from the private companies so that the companies cannot raise prices. The Central Government should take petrol diesel within the purview of GST.
On the occasion, Baljit Singh Sansoa, Happy Singh, Khushwinder Singh, Narendra Singh Bhatia Paramjit Singh, Goldi Saini, Manmeet Luthra, Robin Singh Inderpal Singh, Sarabjit Singh were present.
The outfit members said the petrol and diesel prices were relatively lower in the neighbouring countries while in India the prices had shot up.
