People will elect MP on the basis of performance: Dr Ajay

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha candidate from Jamshedpur Dr Ajay Kumar today said there was no influence of Bharatiya Janata Partys Prime-ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in his constituency. He said the voters will be electing their MP on the basis of performance of candidates and not on the basis of election campaign and publicity.

By merely waving hands at the people from a distance of 500 metres in a public meeting cannot secure vote of the people for any candidate (Modi in this context). The people are only going to cast their vote on the basis of performance of the candidates. I am here seeking votes of the people for the work that I have done so far in the last two and a half year of my tenure as the MP of Jamshedpur, said the JVM leader.

The sitting MP of Jamshedpur, who inaugurated the central election office of JVM at Rajasthan Bhavan, Bistupur, on Wednesday, said, The BJP candidate Vidyut Varan Mahato is an accused in the Rajya Sabha horsetrading case. If anyone finds more information on Vidyut Varan having helped KD Singh and Rajkumar Agrawal, they should talk to the management officials of Adityapur industries.

Dr Ajay Kumar further said that the CBI had given a clean chit to JVM leader and former minister Dulal Bhuiyan after a recent raid by the Income Tax department at latters residence. He said Vidyut had not got clean chit in the horse-trading case.

The JVM leader accused the BJP of fueling caste-based politics during elections. He said this has led a considerable number of voters including those belonging to the Mahato (Kurmi) community to become disenchanted with the BJP.

JVM has never got involved in petty politics which is based on caste or creed of the people. Our party works for the people and talks in terms of development and welfare, Dr Ajay said.

The JVM leader alleged that BJP leaders had got the flower pots removed from the Mango bridge and other city parts, though neither the government nor had he contributed financially to their installation. The BJP has made fool of the people of the state for over 10 years. But now this is going to stop as people can no more be fooled. They will vote to get rid of their problems, he said.

Dr Ajay said FIR should be lodged against contractors and other officials for pending development projects. He said he had visited 1500 out of the 1700 odd villages of East Singhbhum so far.

Development of villages is on my priority list. Administrative officials and political leaders have not gone to many of these villages till date. There is no threat of Naxalites in these areas. There are around two lakh poor labourers in this district and I will try my best to start a pension scheme for them as soon as possible, he said.
