The district education department is keen to increase girls schools in the district to help them in the filed of education. The department is focussing on leveraging education for socio economic change and providing better opportunities for girls.

When their parents are unable to assist with fundamentals such as reading, children will be less prepared and less likely to succeed in school. When adults with low literacy are educated, it allows them to help their children learn and take part in their education, said an official of the department.
At present there are two government girls school in the East Singhbhum district and the rest four are aided schools. There are nine Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, the residential school for poor dropout girls.
The official emphasised on the importance of the plan, went on to add that the principle objective of the programme is to educate illiterate girls so that they can learn to manage their businesses more efficiently.
