Jamshedpur, Oct 24: On the auspicious occasion of Chhath, the festival dedicated to the worship of the Sun God and Chhath Maiya, social worker and Madhuri Dixit fan Pappu Sardar, who is also the brand ambassador of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, organised a free distribution programme at Sakchi Bazar Handi Line on Friday. A total of 151 needy women devotees were provided with earthen stoves and sarees to help them perform Chhath rituals with devotion and dignity. The gesture brought smiles to the faces of many beneficiaries preparing for the four-day festival.
During the event, Pappu Sardar also sought blessings from elderly women by touching their feet. Expressing his sentiments, he said that Chhath Maiya’s blessings give him the strength and inspiration to continue serving the community every year.
He added that his aim is to ensure that no devotee faces any difficulty during the sacred festival. The initiative was widely appreciated by local residents and devotees gathered at the venue
