Dhanbad (IANS): A man was murdered by his son so that he could secure a corporate job on compassionate grounds. Dhanbad police have arrested three suspects in connection with the crime: Vijay Nonia, Akhilesh Mallah, and Amit Kumar Singh.
The Rs 10 Lakh Conspiracy
Dhanbad Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Mohammad Yakub revealed that Vijay Nonia—the victim’s middle son—conspired to kill his father to obtain employment at Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). BCCL offers a compassionate appointment scheme that provides jobs to dependents of employees who die during their service.
The investigation revealed that Vijay allegedly struck a Rs 10 lakh deal with hitmen to execute the murder. With the help of the two other co-accused, he carried out the premeditated plot.
SP Yakub stated that investigators cracked the case using technical evidence, sustained questioning, and intelligence inputs.
Discovery of the Crime
The incident came to light at around 4:45 a.m. on June 20, when a watchman informed police about a body lying near bushes along the PCC road between Chitahi and Barora. A police team from the Barora station rushed to the spot, secured the body, and launched a homicide investigation.
Authorities later identified the deceased as Tuleshwar Nonia, an active employee at BCCL. Preliminary findings indicated that the attackers struck Nonia with a stone, killing him.
SP Yakub noted that the investigation pointed directly to familial and financial motives. Based on the gathering of evidence and subsequent interrogations, police arrested all three suspects. Authorities are continuing legal proceedings and investigating whether any other individuals participated in the conspiracy.
