Jamshedpur, February 5: Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle has thrown an emotional call-out to the people of the city, urging the whole of Jamshedpur to turn up at the Furnace and get behind the team when the Men of Steel take on Sporting Club Delhi in the upcoming friendly on February 7th.
Speaking with visible excitement, Coyle said he is eagerly looking forward to returning to the JRD Tata Sports Complex, a stadium he associates with passion and unmatched atmosphere. Having lifted the League Shield during his previous stint in a bio-bubble in Goa, Owen admitted that playing again at the Furnace, this time as the home coach, will be something special.
“The atmosphere at the Furnace is something I’ve loved every single time I’ve been there,” Coyle said, adding that being back in front of Jamshedpur’s own supporters is a moment he and the players are genuinely excited about. He described the fans as passionate, vocal and fully invested in the team, qualities that can lift players, especially the younger ones, to another level.
Coyle stressed that these games are about more than just minutes on the pitch. They are about connection between the team and the city. With a new season around the corner and a home ISL fixture against Mohammedan SC on the horizon, he called on supporters to pack the stadium, create a real atmosphere and pull together as one.
“We want to be a team people enjoy watching. We want to be a team that works hard and wins games,” Coyle said, underlining his belief that when the city and the team move in the same direction, success becomes possible.
Scheduled to kick off at 7:00 pm, the match will be JFC’s second pre-season friendly and will be played as an open fixture as they face Sreenidhi Deccan FC in a closed friendly at flatelet on February 5th.
Spectators will be allowed entry through Gate 7 from 6:15 pm onwards, with the East Upper and Lower stands set to be fully occupied, adding to the buzz around the stadium.
