Jamshedpur, Jan 6: Thieves took away ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh from a locked house at JP Road in Bagbera police station area. The house owner, Umesh Kumar Sharma, was informed about the theft by his neighbour. He had gone to Kolkata four to five months ago for the treatment of his granddaughter. He returned home and found the inner door open. When he went inside, he found the house in a mess and ornaments missing. Several other valuables have also been stolen, he told police.
Sharma said he got a call from his neighbour Vicky Prasad on 4th January last and returned to the city the next day.
