Odisha’s Pratyush Mohanty wins men’s singles title at Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, November 16: Second seeded Pratyush Mohanty lifts the Men’s Singles title at the just concluded Beldih Club AITA Men’s National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2024, held at the sand-clay courts of the Beldih Club, Jamshedpur.

Chandan Shivaraj of Tamil Nadu bagged the opening set by a close 6-4 as he broke Mohanty at 4 games all. The second set witnessed a hold of serves as the set progressed to a tight 5-5, where it was the 2nd seed from Odisha who got lucky as he claimed the set by 7-5. In the deciding set, it was Mohanty who seemed to be more in control as he refused to drop a free point against the challenge from Karnataka as he breezed past Shivaraj by an easy 6-2. It was the first title for Mohanty at the professional circuit as he got richer by 20 national ranking points.
