Jamshedpur: Korea’s Kim Gyurin and Hamada Ryusei of Japan win gold at Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship 2024

Jamshedpur: The second day of the Asian Youth Sport Climbing Championship 2024 at JRD Tata Sports Complex was nothing short of electrifying, as young climbers from across Asia showcased their skills, determination, and passion. The day was packed with excitement, featuring the Under-16 Bouldering finals, along with the qualification rounds for Lead and Bouldering in the Under-18 and Under-20 categories were completed.

In the Under-16 Bouldering event, the competition reached new heights, with athletes pushing their limits to secure top honors. Climbers from Korea and Japan stole the spotlight, dominating both the male and female divisions. The atmosphere was filled with energy, as an enthusiastic audience cheered on every climber, adding to the electric ambiance of the event.

Under-16 Bouldering Medalists

Female Category-Gold: Kim Gyurin (Korea), Silver: Yamazaki Iroha (Japan), Bronze: Murakami Waka (Japan).

Male Category-Gold: Hamada Ryusei (Japan), Silver: Choi Jungbin (Korea), Bronze: Lee Hayool (Korea).

The medals were presented by Rasip Inn, Secretary General of IFSC Asia, and Col. Vijay Singh, President of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), who praised the athletes for their extraordinary performances and sportsmanship.

Looking ahead, Day 3 promises another thrilling day of action. The following schedule will bring more exciting climbing events and fierce competition as the athletes aim for glory in the Lead and Speed categories
