NSS Day celebrated at JKS College with focus on youth, Digital India

Jamshedpur: National Service Scheme (NSS) Day was celebrated at JKS College, Jawahar Nagar, Mango, focusing on the 2025 theme “My Young India and Digital India.”

The program began with Professor Laxmi Murmu introducing the theme, followed by Principal-in-Charge Dr. Mohit Kumar, who emphasized that NSS aimed to build the personality and character of students through social service. Highlighting the motto “Not Me, But You,” he shared experiences of NSS programs such as tree plantation, cleanliness drives, disaster management and efforts to promote national unity and harmony.

NSS Program Officer Dr. Shweta Srivastava addressed the gathering on “Youth for Digital India,” stressing the importance of digital literacy and the role of youth in empowering India digitally. To mark the occasion, first-semester students were registered on the My Bharat Portal under the guidance of Professor Rupesh Rajak.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor G. Rama. Faculty members including Dr. Manisha Singh, Professor Basanti Kumari, Professor Sapna, Professor Anita Devgam, Professor Shobhit Bhattacharya along with non-teaching staff and students participated in the programme.

The celebration reinforced the NSS mission of shaping socially responsible, digitally aware and community-driven young citizens of India.
