Jamshedpur, Sept 26: The Eco Club of Srinath College of Education marked Green Consumer Day by organizing a creative and eco-friendly Terracotta Jewelry Making Workshop on September 26, 2025. The initiative aimed to promote sustainability, encourage artistic expression and instill environmental responsibility among students.
Terracotta, a natural clay-based material, is eco-friendly, biodegradable and a sustainable alternative to synthetic products. Under the guidance of Ganesh Mahato, HoD, Fine Arts Department, Srinath University, participants learned the process of designing, shaping and decorating terracotta jewelry, including earrings, pendants and bangles. Students experimented with various colors and patterns, creating unique handcrafted pieces.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Bhavya Bhushan commended the Eco Club for nurturing creativity while promoting eco-conscious values. She emphasized the importance of eco-friendly practices in today’s world and encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship through such sustainable crafts.
The workshop not only enhanced students’ skills but also encouraged them to adopt green alternatives in daily life. Through such initiatives, the Eco Club continued to inspire youth to become responsible consumers and advocates of sustainable living.
