CII organises its third edition of ICT Conclave
Jamshedpur, Jan 18: CII Jharkhand organised its third edition of ICT Conclave over Virtual Platform. The objective of the ICT Conclave was to inspire the stakeholders towards building an even stronger culture of ICTE in their organisations.
The conclave covered important topics of discussion including Digital Twin, BI Modal Supply Chain and Transforming E Governance with Big Data.
Chanakya Chaudhary, chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council and vice president – corporate services, Tata Steel said that the current business environment is experiencing a data-driven culture with organizations looking at the democratization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the convergence of AI and Business Intelligence (BI) which is accelerating the need for data literacy.
Digital transformation has immense potential to change consumer lives, create value for business and unlock broader societal benefits. He also said that in this era of digital transformation, new technologies have opened up opportunities for businesses and created new challenges. Until the recent past, only big companies had access to the latest technological developments. Now, digital technology is reachable to businesses of all sizes. Such accessibility allows an expanding digital culture which can bring many advantages across all business functions.
U P Sah, general manager– Business Area, BSNL – Ranchi (Former – Director Security, DOT & Director IT, Government of Jharkhand & CEO – ABVIL & JCNL) spoke about the importance of cyber security and the initiatives taken by Government of India towards data led transformation. He further said that the Government has a high focus on information and communication technology and keeps itself updated with the new trends to disarm any threats in this space. The Government is focused on developing a strong & robust startup ecosystem and is involved in promoting E Governance services in the country. The Government is also involved in creating optical fibre networks in rural areas to bridge the gap between the urban & rural disconnect in ICT space.
Sarajit Jha, convener, CII Jharkhand ICT Panel and chief – business transformation and digital solution, Tata Steel during his address said that businesses have been transforming itself using the data. He affirmed that developing a strong data strategy is a priority for businesses keen to take advantage of the transformative power of information. The advancement of smart manufacturing is supplemented by Digital Twin which is taking the help of data and allowing a real-time digital replica of a product. By creating a replica of the planned production process, a digital twin enables engineers to identify any process failures before the product goes into production.
Tapas Sahu, Vice Chairman, CII Jharkhand State Council & MD & CEO, Highco Engineers Pvt Ltd said that with the Industry 4.0 companies are understanding the value of investments in innovative technologies and processes capable of analyzing data more efficiently and quickly which would allow them to reap the benefits of these investments. He further said that In the coming years, digital twins will likely emerge as one of the leading IT tools in many industries, particularly in manufacturing where it has the potential to revolutionise product development and product testing in a range of areas. This means that in the future, almost every manufactured product could have its own digital twin, assuming it is generating data that can be analysed.
